The organisers paid for the cars to be transported from Watkins Glen and then back to New York, and only accepted 18 entries. These were two cars each from Tyrrell, Ferrari, Matra, McLaren, March Engineering, Brabham, BRM and Lotus, plus one from Surtees and Rob Walker’s Lotus. GPDA President Jo Bonnier had secured an entry, but this was replaced by the second Tyrrell entry after pressure from FOCA. |
