Maserati brought two new 250F models to Argentina (2505 for Fangio, and 2506/02 for Marimon), plus an interim model (model A6GCM with 250F engine) for Mieres (2048/int2501). The factory A6GCM is also believed to have had a 2.5l engine (2041/44 originally intended for Musso). With the heat of the beginning of the year in Argentina, the small amount of tests, and the huge number of entries between factory cars and customers, it is believed that there were several equipment breakdowns. During training there were several car and engine changes between the different cars and drivers, and the most likely final scenario is that Musso and Menditeguy did not start due to the unavailability of engines, and Marimon used the 2041/44 that would be from Musso or Bira, the latter using the 2046/51 with a 2l engine. |
