Perdisa had an accident in the Sports Car race before the GP and Pilette suffered an accident in practice, and were replaced respectively by Maglioli (who was registered with the #17 Maserati of Scuderia Guastalla) and Milhoux. Villoresi ended up racing this car. Moss after testing his Maserati in practice, ended up participating in race with the #2501 that would be from Perdisa, with his original car staying as spare. |

Castellotti retired twice, once with his #3 Ferrari and once after taking over the wheel of Musso’s #4 Ferrari. The same happened to Collins, who retired first with his #2 Ferrari and then with de Portago’s #5 Ferrari. |
