Vanwall intended to enter his 2 contracted drivers, Moss and Brooks, but as Brooks was injured at Le Mans, he needed a replacement, and chose Salvadori, who was available after he left BRM. Moss arrived at the event with a very bad sinusitis and had to be hospitalized, and therefore had to be replaced too, in this case by Lewis-Evans, who was in France as a reserve for Ferrari. |
